Our Winery

With some of the most picturesque views of the Barossa Valley, our Marananga property is now home to the Laughing Jack Winery.

2012 was the first vintage at Marananga and an amazing vintage to kick off with after spending 13 memorable vintages at the old Greenock winery.

At Laughing Jack we have the complete package from owning and managing our own vineyards to producing the finest wine possible in our newly built yet traditionally operated winery.

The winery consists of small 3 tonne open top fermenters which are used for our Moppa Grenache, Moppa Hill Shiraz, Greenock Shiraz, Moppa Block Shiraz and Limited Two.

Jack’s Shiraz is made in our 5 and 8 tonne open top fermenters. Time is important, there are no rushed ferments, all wines made spend the desired amount of time in the fermenters to make the best possible wines.

All of our red wines are basket pressed and all wine made is stored in barrel on site in our purpose built barrel hall.

At Laughing Jack we pride ourselves on having full control from the vineyard to bottling. We are also pleased to say that all of our wines every vintage are bottled only once, there are no multi-bottlings of any wine.

As a family we are all very passionate about what we do and trust you enjoy our handcrafted wines.

HEAT POLICY

Wine is heat sensitive. During the warmer months we reserve the right to hold orders in instances of extreme heat, until there is a clear path of non-extreme temperatures between us and you. All orders are packed and stored safely in our cellar awaiting better conditions to send the wine when it can be more safely dispatched to you.

Alternatively, you may request immediate dispatch despite the heat (at your risk) by choosing ‘Yes’.
