Old Vine Moppa Grenache 2008

Hand Picked | Basket Pressed | 94 pts by James Halliday

This 3 acre single vineyard of old vine Grenache is grown on the southern side of Moppa Hill. The vineyard has an elevation of 350 metres above sea level. Its terroir consists of sandy soil over deep orange/red clay and endures windy warm conditions during the day with cool nights.
This old vine vineyard produces very unique small berry clusters and through meticulous winemaking techniques makes an aromatic and powerful single vineyard Grenache which is very unique to this vineyard site.
