Moppa Block Shiraz 2009
Hand Picked | Basket Pressed
Moppa Block Shiraz is sourced from Block 4 a single vineyard on the eastern slopes of Moppa Hill, located in the Barossa Valley. This vineyard has an altitude of almost 400m which makes it the highest vineyard on the western side of the Barossa Valley.
The grapes were hand picked on the 26th of March, this was the last Shiraz vineyard picked for the vintage. Winemaking conducted in traditional Laughing Jack style, de-stemmed, fully crushed berries and open top fermentation. Fermentation and maceration of the skins lasted for 10 days while punch downs and a rack and return were implemented daily.
