51% Old Vine Semillon | 49% Creek Block Vineyard | Vegan Friendly
Semillon is Barossa Valley’s most suited white grape variety in our opinion. This Semillon was produced from our old vine vineyard planted to clone 143 an early ripening and a shy bearer only producing a small number of tiny bunches per vine. And our Creek block vineyard planted in 1994 from our original old vine unknown clone. 2021 was a cooler growing season and the grapes were picked at their optimum flavour along with good natural acidity.
The Old Vine Semillon was hand-picked on the 4th of February and the Creek Block machine picked same day. Once harvested the grapes were whole bunch pressed to a stainless tank for fermentation. The vessels were kept at 14 degrees for 4 weeks to complete fermentation. After fermentation, leaving very little sugars, this wine is a dry style and kept clean and crisp.
