Semillon is well suited to the Barossa Valley and its warm, mediterranean type climate.  We have 2 Semillon vineyards on our family estate in Greenock which produce exceptional fruit.  The Jack’s Semillon and Old Vine Semillon are a delicious expression of 2 different styles that showcase the versatility of this variety with the addition of our dessert style Lily’s Cane Cut   there really is a Semillon for every occasion.

Semillon, a food friendly variety, its citrussy nature makes it a hit with light seafood dishes such as fresh fish, prawns, crabs and oysters.  Cellar for a richer, more textural aged Semillon to pair with shellfish and fresh seafood dishes plus butter-based sauces, poultry or pork, and creamy curries.  Finish with something sweet or a cheese plate and our Lily’s Cane Cut Semillon. Perfection!

2023 Jack’s Semillon – 750ml

Aroma:  Flavour ripeness has pushed the tropical fruit, mainly pineapple along with melon, apple, pear and papaya. There are threads of herbaceous notes and a lovely chamomile, floral lift to finish.

Palate:  Medium bodied, rich round mouthfeel and intense varietal flavour.  Plenty of citrus, pome fruits and papaya drive the palate with medium acidity for a softer finish.

2022 Old Vine Semillon – Trophy winner for Best White of Show at the 2025 Marananga Wine Show

Aroma:  Earlier picking has driven the citrus, mainly lemon and grapefruit along with orange blossom and white flowers.  There are also threads of vanilla and nutmeg spice from the oak.

Palate:  A purity of citrus fruit with a tight mineral acidity flow beautifully through the seamless, slightly creamy textural palate.  The wine will continue to grow in intensity and build layers of complexity as the wine ages.

2022 Lily’s Cane Cut Semillon – Dessert Wine – 375ml

Aroma: Fragrant honeysuckle, orange peel, candied lemon are noticed first, followed by apricot and tropical fruits.

Palate:  The honeyed flavour profile is entwined with marmalade and candied citrus. A touch of dried apricot to finish. The acidity is balanced with the natural sugars and leaves a clean full flavour finish.
