Ever spotted this flour sifter in Cellar Door and wondered its relevance?
This is, in fact, an integral piece of equipment in the foundation of Laughing Jack and Shawn's winemaking journey.
As an eager 8yr old boy, Shawn shoved bunches of his Dad's grapes through his Mother's flour sifter, excited by the prospect of producing his own wine.
Although his winemaking technique and equipment may have evolved and become more sophisticated over time, Shawn still gets just as excited about making wine from our family grown fruit!
Everyone has to start somewhere right. ๐

Albeit winter, we love the autumn colour we're still seeing in our old vine Grenache vineyard at Moppa.
This vineyard produces the most amazing fruit. You may have tasted it before in our Jack's GSM or if you're lucky enough, our Old Vine Moppa Grenache. ๐

X marks the spot!
Conservation of both flora and fauna is always close to our hearts here at Laughing Jack. Heck, we're named after an Australian bird, after all! ๐
Did you know if you pass a dead kangaroo on the side of the road that has been painted with an X, it means that its pouch has been checked for babies?!
This morning on the school run, we passed one that was unmarked. We pulled over to check. Soooo glad that we did as a beautiful little joey was tucked safely inside!
This is a shoutout and a big THANKYOU to Vanessa at @barossawildliferescue who came to our rescue and safely removed "Jack" from his deceased mothers pouch.
"Jack" is now being cared for in the safest of hands, and our last update is that he's understandably scared but doing well!

Wine is heat sensitive. During the warmer months we reserve the right to hold orders in instances of extreme heat, until there is a clear path of non-extreme temperatures between us and you. All orders are packed and stored safely in our cellar awaiting better conditions to send the wine when it can be more safely dispatched to you.
Alternatively, you may request immediate dispatch despite the heat (at your risk) by choosing ‘Yes’.
